Meet Move Minnesota’s Policy and Research Director, Suzanne Sobotka
Move Minnesota is growing our team: we are thrilled to welcome Suzanne Sobotka into our new Policy and Research Director position! Suzanne comes to Move Minnesota from the Walz-Flanagan Administration, bringing years of relevant policy experience to this new role. As the Policy and Research Director, Suzanne will be leading on policy and research initiatives that benefit and inform many areas of Move Minnesota’s work—from transit advocacy at all levels of government to sustainable commuting programming that engages employers, developers, and commuters. Her first day with us will be March 24.
“I am excited to join Move Minnesota to focus my efforts on advancing a world-class transportation system that works for all. Given the demonstrated need for policies that advance racial and economic equity, social justice, and climate change solutions, I can think of no better organization to make the case that a fair and just transportation system is the linchpin to ensure those policies achieve their intended effects.”
Suzanne Sobotka
As Policy and Research Director, Suzanne will help Move Minnesota transform transportation policy and build support for transit, bicycling, walking, and rolling in the Twin Cities metro and across the state.
Suzanne brings nearly a decade of legislative and policymaking experience to Move Minnesota, having served in various staff roles at the Minnesota Senate and most recently as the Senior Policy Advisor for transportation and environment for Governor Tim Walz.
Suzanne holds a Master of Public Health degree in Epidemiology and Master of Arts degree in Health Journalism from the University of Minnesota. As a resident of the West Seventh neighborhood of Saint Paul, she enjoys easy access to transit and active transportation, and looks forward to development of new transit routes and corridors nearby.
We are excited to have Suzanne on the team and invite you to join us in giving her a warm welcome! Learn more about Move Minnesota and our current work to build a just and sustainable transportation system in Minnesota.
